Ditched the heat for a weekend...

Last weekend we headed to Payson to spend one last weekend away as a family of 3 with my grandparents. We had a great time! The weather was awesome... very low 70's (and I think it may have been in the high 60's a few times) all weekend! and though this may not appeal to everyone, it rained off and on all weekend... and we LOVED it! Elijah got to "puddle jump" as we call it and go on several walks around the neighborhood.

Right after we got there, my grandma told Elijah that she had strawberries
growing in their yard and asked him if he wanted to pick one...
He was SOOOOO EXCITED!

The next day my Grandpa took him to get the other ripe one....

right away!

He spent a lot of time coloring with his Great Grandma! She had
colored penciles, which he loved, and different coloring books
then he had. --- Let's just say he was very entertained!

I am VERY pleased to report that Elijah did not potty on their floor one time! He really did awesome, and seems *crossing fingers* to really be getting it. yay! now let's just hope it sticks even when Caleb gets here!
We had a great time just relaxing and enjoying the cool weather ... but sadly sunday came and it was time for us to head home. We left right around noon I think, but quickly ran into some heavy traffic cuz there was an accident on the 87. we were in about 5mph traffic for a good 30 min (after we had already drove 30 minutes) and decided that we needed to turn around and wait in payson till it cleared up cuz we didn't want elijah to have to pee and have us have no where to take him --- couldn't even pull of the road in the stretch of road we were on at the time.
so we turned around and ended up meeting my grandparents at the casino and got steven and I signed up for their reward cards and got a free $10 to spend at the casino. :) so we took turns watching Elijah in the video game room.... steven lost all his money and I ended up leaving with $7. not too shabby considering we didn't pay anything! By the time we were done there we decided to try heading home again. -- smooth sailing all the way - thank you God :) though Elijah did tell us he had to pee, so we quickly pulled off the road and let him pee.

and that is about it for our weekend. we had a great time and are grateful we got to visit my grandparents.
